AI Automation Specialist
Lisbon (Hybrid)
Granter is building an AI Grant Consultant, an AI agent that handles grants for your organization, end-to-end. It helps companies discover funding opportunities, draft stronger proposals faster, and manage funded projects after approval.
Our mission is to enable businesses of all sizes to leverage incentives to grow and innovate. We are deeply involved in the Portuguese startup ecosystem and were the winners of the Web Summit Pitch Competition 2025.
We are now looking for an AI Automation Specialist to help make Granter truly AI-native.
Half evangelist, half builder: you get teams excited about what's possible, then make it real. That means embedding with each department, understanding their goals, and turning them into working automations that move the numbers.
You're genuinely AI-pilled, technically strong, and sharp on product and business, someone who can talk to anyone and deliver 10x productivity gains you can actually measure.
What This Role Involves
Be the internal champion for AI and automation and show every team what is now possible
Meet with every department (operations, product, engineering, sales, and more), understand their workflows and goals, and find where AI and automation create the most leverage
Devise a plan and prioritize. Decide what is worth automating first based on impact and effort, and align the relevant teams around it
Build the automations end-to-end using tools like n8n, Make, Zapier, scripts, etc, connecting the systems the team already uses
Measure impact. Track the time, cost, and errors each automation saves, and iterate on what actually matters
Document what you build so it is reliable and the rest of the team can depend on it
What We Are Looking For
We care far more about profile than about years of experience. Three things matter most.
“AI-pilled”
You have already tried most of the relevant AI tools and have a strong, opinionated sense of which tool is best for what
You use AI daily and instinctively reach for automation before doing anything manually
You keep up with what is new and can quickly judge whether it is useful or just hype
Technical background
Enough technical foundation that the role can go as technical as it needs to: scripting, APIs, connecting systems, reading and adapting code
You're comfortable reading and adapting code, working with APIs, and connecting systems.
You can show us things you have built, vibe coded or automated, in a job, a side project, or just for yourself.
Product and business sense
Able to talk to and understand each department's initiatives, translate their goals into automation opportunities, and prioritize by impact
Strong analytical thinking and the ability to judge whether something is actually worth automating
You think about outcomes for the business, not just the elegance of the automation
Additional Plus
Bonus if you're already following the AI startup world closely: what's being built, how these companies operate, what's working
This role has no seniority bar. but you need to stand out. Send us your projects, your automations, your GitHub, your side experiments. Show us you've been seriously walking this road.
Communication
Clear and direct communicator
Able to document issues clearly and make them easy to act on
Fluent in English and Portuguese
Location requirement
This role requires physical presence in Lisbon. Please do not apply if you are not currently based in Lisbon.
Mindset
High standards and a strong sense of ownership
Strong structured thinking and problem solving
Perseverance to go deep and do the work required to get things right
Curiosity about how AI systems work
How We Like to Work
We aim to build a team of high-agency builders - people who take initiative, move problems forward, and don’t wait for permission to improve things.
You’ll likely do well here if you:
Take ownership
Focus on outcomes, not just outputs
Move ideas forward quickly through testing and iteration
Communicate clearly and give direct, no-B.S. feedback
Collaborate effectively across disciplines
Stay comfortable operating in ambiguity
Are curious about AI and how technology reshapes work
Granter is still early in its journey, and we are serious about creating an environment where things get built. People here tend to befriend each other and often stay engaged with the team beyond the strict boundaries of work. We regularly spend time together through team activities and startup ecosystem events.
If that excites you, we’d love to hear from you. If it scares you, this may not be the right place, and that’s okay.
